Hi Jacob, I published this a while back, so I’m not quite sure. But, it’s quite a common jazz concept that works extremely well on the guitar. It may also have come from a Julian Lage interview from [UK magazine] Guitar Techniques magazine form the early 2000’s. Another guy that used to do a similar thing is Scott Henderson. It was in the GIT advert of his in the late 80’s.
