This King Crimson/Robert Fripp whole tone Scale guitar Line employs strict alternate picking starting on a downstroke.

3 Key Points:
This is the main “Motif” of the line starting on a down stroke with strict alternate picking
I am counting with Konokol but you might want to count in western classical tradition e,g 1 and 2 and 3 and or 1 2 3 4 5 6 etc.
The linking part is based upon a whole tone scale in steps and string skipping turn around lead in to the next part:

This Fripp guitar line consists of Tritones and Octaves. For example C to F# and up the octave to the next C note. When played as a group of 4 notes this off sets the predictability of the rhythm by forming “Chord Pairs”.
An interesting point about this line is that it can be played in triplets:
Also, 16th notes in 3/4: [Similar to 2/4 but the groups of 3 all fit within the bar and for some players easier to count].
The right hand Robert Fripp guitar technique for this line employs strict “Alternate Picking” starting on a down stroke.
FULL FRIPP GUITAR EXAMPLE:
The last part starts on an “Up” stroke with strict alternate picking right hand technique once again:
